SINGAPORE RIVER REGATTA 2009

Despite the cool early morning breeze, many were perspiring.

It not due to heat, but from the weird mix of emotions accompanied with butterflies flying in all random directions in their stomachs. It was not long before these butterflies were replaced by a whole new burst of energy, as the rowers started to make their way down to their respective races.

Each time the rowers were in their boat, their eyes were fixed solely on their own dragon’s head, making sure that no one else’s crosses the finishing line before theirs.

Legacy was created, as simdragons obtained 3 Grand Final titles and 1 Plate Final title. It was definitely a well-fought battle and a well-deserved victory.

PENANG PESTA 2009

The moment we alighted the bus at competition ground, we were greeted by the hot scorching sun and unforgettable smell of the seawater. Paddling under such conditions was definitely the biggest huddle experienced, as a variation of paddling techniques had to be adopted in different scenarios and conditions each time, to maximize efficiency.

Nonetheless, we gradually managed to overcome them and claimed some medals along the way, adding 6 titles on to the medal tally. However, at the end of the day, it was the strong bonds that were forged, that made this trip a happy and memorable one.
